Woke up early and started to pack up. Joel was excited about the 4wd park! Wind the camper down.......roof on 45 degree angle, pole not budging! Well after an hour of pulling everything out of the camper (because someone thought it would be a good idea to put the winch ropes all through every single cupboard in the place - thanks Jayco) it still wasn't budging! Now in hindsight we probably shouldn't have driven 6 hrs away from a main city when our camper was not working properly. However here we were with a $u&ked camper and in the middle of nowhere.
Solution, get the roof down and drive back 6 hrs to a main city. We ended up finding a repairer at Gawler so headed here first. Of course another bonus is its Sunday and nothing is open! Drove around Gawler and couldn't find any accommodation that wasn't expensive or dodgy central!
After many fights and the blame game being thrown around the car, we ended up in West Beach at a Big 4 in a cabin which is costing us a weeks worth of camp fees for one night! Tomorrow morning have to find repairer or somewhere to trade in the wind up camper for a van!
There are so many more things that went wrong today but I honestly can't be bothered writing about them! Over it, tomorrow we will start again....
