Ballina Holiday Village

Our Comments:

Quiet location, all amenities, nice pool, laundry, camp kitchen, friendly staff, shop, restaurant and clean park. Lots of mossies, very windy, barge can become expensive if you go into town a lot, quite expensive at $38 a night, couldn't 4wd access the beach as was not maintained after washout... overall there was nothing wrong with it but we wouldn't return.

Dangar Falls Lodge & Camping

Our Comments:
Windy road to get to Dorrigo but it is so worth it! Camping down the back of the lodge is grassed and simply pay when caretaker comes at night. ($20 a night - unpowered) The views are breathtaking and go for miles. The falls are right next door within walking distance. There are lots of different tourist things to do or you can just chill out at camp! Friendly country town. If I had any whinges they would be that it does get quite cold and flies can be annoying, other than that put this on your list of must go to towns!

Our Comments:
Gumma Reserve was fairly quiet and a nice location on the river. No power so need to be self sufficient to stay here. Can have campfires and there are flushing toilets. Mossies came out at night and are meant to be pretty bad when it's raining. There is a charge to stay here ($12 a night 2 ppl), however this depends on the ranger turning up to collect the money and also if you stay overnight it is possible to miss the ranger if you leave early (apparantly comes at around 9am). Overall it was a good place to do an overnight or a couple of days.

Our Comments:
Stoney Park was a near new park which was very well maintained. Brand new clean amenities block. Nice cabins and powered sites, there is also pretty much unlimited unpowered camping as this is a big property. The added bonus of the waterski lakes where most times you will see someone waterskiiing and even more reason to go if you want to waterski yourself. Free kayak hire when lake is free. The park is pretty reasonable at $22 a night for unpowered. Close enough to Port to go for a day trip.

Our Comments:
Port Stephens is a beautiful area and well worth a visit! There is so much to do in this area, whether you want to relax on the beach and soak up the sun, nature walks or do all the watersports imaginable this is a great place for family holidays. Be aware we went in February and it was packed so I can only imagine what it may be like in holiday time! Great facilities, clean, well maintained, friendly staff and the beach is 10 steps across the road, shops just 300m down the road. Access to Stockton Beach is close. Overall great spot no matter who you are! Highly recommended. A little more costly which is to be expected at $40 a night for powered.

Katoomba Falls Caravan Park

Our Comments:
Katoomba was a really nice place and this park is within walking distance of some great tourist attractions. Would definately recommend this to anyone in the area wanting to visit the three sisters etc. Has all facilities required including a dump point. Only thing I would say is it seems to be a bit of a rort that camper trailers can't stay on the unpowered sites as they will wreck the grass which essentially means that instead of paying $28 a night, it is $36 a night! Oh and Joel said the men's toilets absolutely stink and need to be cleaned and sorted out! Other than that it was a good place to stay.

Our Comments:
Oberon is a nice little country town with everything you need. Everyone was friendly and the park had everything you could need, including camp kitchen. It is close to Jenolan Caves if you want to head here too. Dams for fishing, the show is in February each year. Toilets and showers were like new and well kept. Unpowered site was $20 a night.

Our Comments:
Well this ones hard to rate, I don't want to put people off based on our experience as it may not be true to what the park is really like. Whe. We arrived it was very nice clean looking park and the people were very friendly and showed us to our site, showed us the facilities etc which was nice. Only complaint we had was that there was some roughnecks in the park that spoiled it for everyone else which was a bit of a bummer. We may have just been unlucky. Sites were $30 a night for powered site and they had a deal pay for 2 nights and get the 3rd free.

Fantastic! We loved it here, great location, yea there is an airport close but it doesn't hinder the time you will have here. Right on the water, fish everywhere, great people, popular spot, cheap at $15 a night or $88 a week. No power so need to be self sufficient, is water and toilets. Great spot!

Our Comments:
This is bush camping, no water, no power but there are drop toilets. Ducks were very friendly! On a nice river if you know how to fly fish. Close to Thredbo, a good spot if you want to explore Mount Kosciusko on a budget.

Our Comments:
Great park, was very busy even in low season so make sure book in peak. Powered and unpowered, waterfront sites, nice amenities, clean. Boat moorings available if required, small little town with a couple of shops, not much else to do here except fish! Great fishing though! Friendly people, $26 a night for powered (shoulder season). Overall if you like fishing don't miss this one.

Our Comments:
There are a lot of campsites to choose from all along Ninety Mile Beach and they are all free! However not all are suitable for campers or caravans. A lot are uneven and in really boggy sand - ok for tents. The campsites are all numbered and we would suggest the higher numbers if you have a van. Drop toilets only, was no one else around, good overnight stop.

Our Comments:
Popular campground, but there is loads of room all along the foreshore. We stayed in G section in an unpowered area. Good views from G10 where we were, even better from G11 (which somebody else go first), sites are quite small here you wouldn't want to have a huge van, however there are heaps of other sections suitable. Ranger office is at the start of all the sections, pay here for your permit and then set up. It was $25 a night or $140 for the week unpowered. There was a lot of noise here from the main road it is on, all day all night, was a few yelling screaming people around at night. We did not sleep well here at all. Ants were really bad also, all through our van! Toilets and showers ok. Laundry available.

Our Comments:
Great free campsite! Best so far. Has drop toilets but nothing else, no water. Open grassy areas, room for heaps of people. Short walk to the beach and lots to explore around this area, being right on great ocean road. Wouldn't miss it if you are in area. Make sure you use Johanna Red road to come in here not the Johanna blue road! I took off a star because the high wind here one night broke our awning! However this obviously does not happen to everyone!

Our Comments:
Big 4's definately are a luxury to bush camping. But it's not really camping when you have jumping pillows, mini golf, swimming pools, spas, gym, ping pong, tv's is it?! But they are definately a welcome break for a night to "live it up" every now and again! Can't complain with anything here, well kept park, cost was $32 a night (this is low season) powered. Not your cheapest option but definately your most comfortable! Couldn't really fault it. On a river to for fishing.

Port MacDonnell Tourist Park

Our Comments:
Nice spot, right on the beach, walk to shops and bike tracks here too. Amenities clean but older. Nice people. $29 a night for powered, maybe a little on the high side. Peaceful nights sleep here, no noise except the waves crashing. Good fishing here too. This is home of the rock lobster if you can catch one!
