First call this morning...markets! Haven't been to a market for a while. They are held on Sundays at the park in 1770 and there was a few stalls there selling some interesting things. I bought some Anzac biscuits...always a sucker for them. Joel had a snag for brekky and bought a few tickets in a seafood tray draw.
We then went to Agnes Waters to have a look around the shops there and found a notice board with an advertisement for an auction that was on today. Sounded interesting so we thought we would go and have a look... Now I know that just about anywhere that if you give people the opportunity to sell their crap most people would jump at it so I was expecting just a huge amount of shit set out on an oval.
We turned up and there was only about 20 lots which consisted of a spa bath, scooter, heater, annex matting and other fairly boring items. Was disappointing! Was all set for a big auction bidding on crap we don't need but instead there wasn't one thing we would have bid on?! Epic fail
We then drove back into 1770 and had a look at the Cook monument (and I did take a photo or two but on the camera that won't work!) and a nice stroll along the beach and boardwalk.
By this time we were waiting for our call to say we had won the seafood tray....needless to say we did not have seafood for lunch! Haha
1770 is a really nice little town and judging by all the boat trailers everywhere it is great for fishing also. It is quite a sleepy little town, not a lot to do but relax and enjoy the serenity...so if that's your type of holiday it is well worth a look.
